FAISALABAD: Police have arrested an accused allegedly involved in kidnapping a female student of a medical university for ransom in Faisalabad.
According to police, a female medical student was abducted from Jaranwala Road in Faisalabad a day before. The captors initially demanded a ransom of Rs 20 million.
SSP Operations Faisalabad said the daughter of a senior doctor from Faisalabad was abducted on July 27. The girl’s family informed the police after which a special police team was constituted.
The police team delivered the ransom money to the accused in Chiniot arrested him and also recovered the abducted girl. She was released after her family paid a ransom of Rs6 million.
The police claimed to arrest the suspect and shifted him to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
