FAISALABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cybercrime wing arrested a man for blackmailing a woman by posting her private pictures on Facebook and circulating them on Whatsapp.
According to details, the man was threatening to defame her through these tactics after she was refused to marry him. Officials also seized his mobile phone during the raid.
An FIA official informed that the cybercrime wing took action on the complaint of the girl and arrested the accused from Lahore. “The accused was arrested and nasty photos were recovered from his possession,” he added. The official further said that action will be taken against the accused under the Cyber Crimes Act.
Earlier today (Monday), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a man for blackmailing TikTok star Jannat Mirza. The suspect identified as Asfandyar was accused of doctoring images of the TikToker and her sister Alishba Anjum and posting them online.
Jannat Mirza had filed a complaint against the suspect at the Cyber Crime Division of the FIA. The agency also took two other men into custody along with Asfandyar. The suspect has been handed over to the FIA in two-day physical remand.
