Child protection

Nazia Ali by Nazia Ali

Reading Time: 2 mins read
Chaos is not only in Pakistan’s politics but in the whole system. Operations against terrorists have been carried out in the country and we have been successful. We have always relied on our institutions and the armed forces. However, the current situation in Pakistan is becoming more deplorable, while Karachi is at the forefront of various injustices in the whole country.
The metropolis has already suffered from the brutality of K-Electric, the government, and elected representatives. On the other hand, the city is plagued by various street crimes and abuses, including the abduction of innocent children and the abuse of women. The issue of child protection and honour is being faced by the whole country. Who is responsible for this and how to prevent it? No one seems serious about this matter.
The Zainab Alert Bill hasn’t been implemented in the country in any manner. As a result of street crime, decisions of jirgas and influentials, the violation of the sanctity of women is still ongoing in the country.
The fact that sexual abuse and killing of children is increasing day by day in the country is also alarming. Such crimes in an Islamic society are a question in itself. An incident in the case of an innocent girl Zainab came to light but there are hundreds of such incidents, which are not reported.
The indifference and point-scoring attitude of our government are the biggest obstacles to finding solutions to these problems. First of all, the demands of justice must be met, and secondly, full efforts must be made to eradicate them through effective measures.
All over Pakistan, especially in the rural areas of Sindh and Punjab, men consider it permissible to abuse the enemy’s wife in order to vent their enmity. In all such inhuman incidents, police investigate in their traditional way, and in many cases, even policemen appear to be complicit in the crime, either for money or for fear of being fired.
Will sexual violence, honour killing, violation of honour and dignity continue with the same cruelty in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan? Will Pakistan always be entangled in the damage caused by electricity, petrol prices, inflation, unemployment, and corruption? So that the people of Pakistan always remain busy from the sufferings and cannot raise voice against the atrocities being faced by the women and the children.
The growing brutality in Pakistan, a country founded in the name of Islam, has destroyed countless homes, countless women and children are sexually abused, and numerous innocent girls are killed in the name of honour killing. I appeal to the present government to pay attention to this sensitive issue and a complete and effective policy should be formulated to rid Pakistan of brutal people.
