India has continued its ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundaries. A 22-year-old civilian was injured as the Indian armed forces yet again resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Battal Sector. India is conducting bogus surgical strikes and operations to create a furor and then attempts to create instability in Pakistan.
Pakistan has repeatedly summoned Indian diplomats and lodged a strong protest over the ceasefire violations by the Indian forces along LoC due to which, several civilians have lost their lives. However, unprovoked firing and shelling on the LOC continued unabated. Foreign Ministry of Pakistan has informed that almost 1546 ceasefire violations in the first 6 months of 2020 had occurred, resulting in 14 martyrdoms and critical injuries to 114 innocent civilians. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Prime Minister Imran Khan have repeatedly drawn the attention of the international community in this regard.
A ceasefire was declared by Pakistan in November 2003, to which both sides agreed two days later, along the LoC, the international boundary, and the Actual Ground Position Line in Siachen. However, India is not respecting the ceasefire agreement.
On the other hand, Indian occupation forces have continued its atrocities against innocent people in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IoK&J). Recently, images of India’s brutalization were flashed across the world depicting the level of callousness and inhumanity meted out by Indian occupation forces. An elderly man was shot dead by Indian troops. A three-year-old boy was later pictured sitting on a dead grandfather’s chest.
The situation had been worsening for Indian Muslims such as the abrogation of Article 370 regarding Kashmir and the discriminatory citizenship bill. India has also disturbed the peaceful atmosphere in the region after the annexation of occupied territories and tensions with China and Nepal.
Apparently, India wants to increase its influence in the region. The United Nations and other world powers should raise voice against Indian atrocities and violations of the ceasefire agreement. Otherwise, the current tension between the two countries could lead to an arduous situation at any time.
