PESHAWAR: Three Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police officers have been suspended for torturing and making a naked video of a drunken man in Peshawar’s police station.
As per media reports, the accused man, identified as Amir, was drunk and he abused a police officer ‘unintentionally’ as he was out of his senses.
However, the police officials, instead of treating the accused according to the law, tortured and paraded him naked in the police station.
A video went viral on social media wherein it can be seen that the police officers were beating a man and tearing apart his clothes to parade him naked in the police station.

A man, Javed Aziz posted a tweet informing people about the development in the case. He said that three policemen have been arrested and an SHO has been suspended.

The entire scenario leads to Twitter questioning what kind of law allows police officers to abuse a person just for making fun of them? Others are saying that police should be the first ones to follow the law.
A social media user tweeted, “This SHO belongs to Peshawar Tahkal police station. A drunk citizen abused him unintentionally. He arrested him named Amir Tahkal and made him naked, filmed him and viral his naked video instead of charging him under the law and constitution. He must be punished the same way.”

Rifatullah Orakzai another social media user said that the act of KP police officials has no place in Pashtun traditions and Islamic teachings.

Meanwhile, police ensuring safety and rights of all citizens released a statement said, “Suspending ASI and constable and charging them under police act while suspending the prime culprit over poor supervision can’t be called justice with Amir Takaley but black spot on the whole department of KP Police. #JusticeForAmir”
