KARACHI: Following the report of the committee formed to investigate the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) girls’ hostel video incident, three employees of the university have been suspended until further notice.
Earlier, Vice-Chancellor of DUHS Professor Muhammad Saeed Qureshi formed an inquiry committee to investigate the girls’ hostel video issue, where girls were mishandled.
According to details, separate notifications have been issued in this regard by Dow University Registrar Dr. Ashar Ashfaq. Warden Girls Hostel Miss Saima Fawad, lady security guards Razia Bibi and Kainat Bibi have been suspended.
Separate notifications informed that the Associate Professor of Pathology has been withdrawn from the additional responsibilities of Chief Warden Girls Hostel Ojha Campus.
Earlier, a video had gone viral on social media showing female police guards dragging two students out of the hostel building, asking them to leave as the premises were sealed.
Students, on the other hand, called it an act of discrimination against Sindhi speaking girls, as according to them, many other Urdu speaking students are also living in the hostel, but they were never touched.
