PESHAWAR: The Capital City Police today (Sunday) arrested four terrorists associated with banned organisations for their involvement in terrorist activities in the province.
According to details, the arrested suspects belong to Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and Hizb-ul-Ahrar. During the investigation, the arrested terrorists have confessed to being involved in various subversive activities and extortion.
An official informed that the held terrorists were involved in terrorist activities in the last few weeks. Hand grenades, ammunition and other material have been recovered from their custody.
It is worth mentioning here that law enforcement agencies have launched a search operation across the country to improve the security situation.
Earlier on June 12, one person was killed and 12 others were injured, including three children, when an explosive device went off in the busy Kola Centre of Kabari Bazaar, Rawalpindi.
Regional Police Officer Sohail Habib Tajik informed that it was not a suicide attack, but a blast in which an IED device containing 2-3kg of explosives was used. There was no claim of responsibility for the explosion.
