KARACHI: Senior Director of Human Resource Management (HRM), Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Jameel Ahmed Farooqui has been suspended in the wake of the inquiry initiated on illegalities in recruitments.
According to the notification, Jameel Ahmed Farooqui has been directed to immediately report to the Local Government and Housing Town Planning Department. Orders have also been issued for a transparent inquiry into the matter.

The notification further stated that the suspended director will draw his salaries during the suspension period as per admissible according to the policy. Additionally, the advertisement issued by the KMC for recruitment on May 24 has also been canceled.
Relevant sources have informed that despite receiving suspension orders from the Sindh government, Jamil Ahmed Farooqi is performing duties.
Sources have also claimed that Jamil Ahmad Farooqi allegedly holds dual citizenship. He was also demoted to 17th grade by the High court over mismanagement issues.
Earlier on June 2, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar terminated 20 employees of a medical and dental college in Karachi.
The officers were sacked on the suggestion of the inquiry committee probing the institute on corruption and misuse of power allegations. Those that have been dismissed include officers ranking from grade 1 till 16.
