FAISALABAD: Police have yet to register FIR against the suspects who allegedly blackmailed and abused a 14-year-old girl for nine months in Chiniot village on the outskirts of Faisalabad.
According to the victim’s family, Mahvish, a resident of Burj Mandi in Faisalabad, was abducted nine months ago by a security guard and his accomplices and taken to Chiniot.
A month later, on the day of Eid, Mahvish reached his native village in Chak Jhumra area of Faisalabad. The girl told that the abductor, Asif and his wife Kulsoom, a resident of Chiniot, have formed an organized group of kidnappers who allegedly abducted girls and were forced into prostitution.
She said the accused have abducted several girls and running prostitution dens in the area. Mahvish informed that these people were involved in kidnapping of girls from Islamabad and other places by tricking them into getting domestic work, later they sold the girls in Peshawar and Afghanistan.
Uncle of the 14-year-old victim, said he has applied for a case against accused and his other accomplices at the relevant police station.
However, police had been trying to hush up the matter for several days because the prime suspect involved in the kidnapping of his niece is from an influential criminal gang. Police did not register FIR against the suspect despite several compliant, he added.
The key suspect, Asif had threatened his niece of dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident and the sexual assault continued for almost nine months, he said.
Police have allegedly been involved in hushing up the matter and has advised the suspect for a bail before arrest the girl’s father said.
He further said the suspects who abducted his daughter were highly influential and run a sex trafficking racketing involving minor girls who are sold into prostitution.
He appealed to the prime minister, army chief, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and IGP Punjab to take action against police for not taking action and provide an exemplary punishment to the suspects.
