RAWALPINDI: A woman embraced martyrdom while a minor girl sustained injuries after Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing from across the Line of Control Monday.
On a social media website Twitter, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Babar Iftikhar (DG ISPR) said that the Indian forces initiated unprovoked CFVs in Jandrot and Khuiratta Sectors along LoC deliberately targeting civilian population.
Iftikhar further said a woman was martyred while an eight-year-old girl was injured in the incident. The ISPR stated that the injured child has been evacuated and being provided medical care.

Earlier this month, in another ceasefire violation Indian troops resorted to firing in the Sharda, Dhudnial and Shahkot sectors causing serious injuries to six civilians, including a 15-year-old girl.
The incidence of ceasefire violations along the LoC have seen an increase in recent months as tensions continue to ascend between Pakistan and India.
Pakistan has cautioned the international community numerous times that India may stage some kind of ‘false flag’ operation to avert attention from the current unrest in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
