The United Kingdom has called in military to deliver protective equipment to hospital and directed the people to stay at home and practice social distancing in a bid to contain the outbreak of coronavirus.
In this regard, the UK government said that the army would help to provide personal protective equipment including masks to healthcare workers.
There have been complaints from frontline medical staff about shortage of kits and claimed that they did not feel safe at work.
In a letter penned-down to Prime Minister Boris Johnson to increase PPE supplies, more than 6,000 frontline doctors claimed that they were being asked to put their lives at risk with out-of-date masks and low stocks.
UK Health Secretary has said that military has been called to address these issues. He said that the army would drive trucks throughout day and night to get supplies to medical staff.
Talking to international media, he further said that it’s a war-like effort, it is a war against coronavirus and the army has been helpful in getting situation better.
