Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah has announced a province-wide lockdown for 15 days in order to contain the outbreak of coronavirus. Under lockdown, people of the province will not be allowed to venture out of their homes unnecessarily. However, essential items shops, medicals and banks will remain open. Prior to Sindh, governments of Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have imposed a partial lockdown in their provinces.
Sindh has remained the worst affected province from coronavirus in country. Since the first case of COVID-19 emerged in Sindh, the provincial government fasten their actions and is taking all possible steps to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the number of confirmed cases in the province has surpassed 300, as well as 4 people, have died. In this regard, the national tally has broken the barrier of 700.
Coronavirus has affected the world badly and has claimed lives of more than 13,000 people. The deadly disease has spread in almost 186 countries, while Italy and Iran are currently the most affected countries in the world. Unfortunately, no vaccine has been invented to curb the epidemic. China the epicenter of the virus has contained the spread of the coronavirus with stern precautionary measures. China has directed its nationals to practice social distancing and self-isolation, which are the most effective measure against the spread of the deadly virus.
However, the motive of the Sindh government is the same. The rising number of confirmed cases in Pakistan is only due to the negligence of the people. The protection of lives of the people is undoubtedly the government’s responsibility but it is also the responsibility of every citizen to follow the directives of the government. The disturbing thing here is that the people are not taking directives of government seriously.
The suspects, who have the symptoms of the virus, are not taking precautionary measures and also not quarantining themselves they are risking the lives of other people as well as their families. The need for the hour is that people should follow the instructions of the government and every citizen should be responsible because coronavirus won’t come inside your home until you yourself don’t go outside to get it.
