PESHAWAR: At least five terrorists were killed during a joint intelligence-based operation of Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and police in Khyber district in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to police sources, the law enforcement agencies personnel conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Raigi area of Peshawar.
Police said during the operation terrorist opened fire on the personnel, however, in retaliatory firing five terrorists were killed. The killed terrorists were identified as Aziz Ullah, Niaz Ali, Adnan, and Jameel while the identity of fifth terrorists could be ascertained yet, police added.
The security forces also recovered weapons, three suicide jackets and other huge quantities of ammunition during the operation.
Police further informed the suspects were involved in attacks on security forces, bomb blasts and other heinous crimes. Police shifted the bodies to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
