KARACHI: A woman was killed after being hit by a train while crossing the railway line near Karachi’s Malir Halt Railway Station on Monday.
According to rescue sources, a 35-year old unknown woman was hit by a speeding train as she was crossing a fenceless railway track near Malir Halt Railway Station.
As a result, she suffered injuries and died on the spot. Later, the body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when the woman trying to cross the track and hit by Allama Iqbal Express that was traveling to Karachi. The area police said that they started an investigation to find out the causes of the accident.
In another road accident, a fast-moving truck crushed one youth to death and injured another at Arifwala Bahawalnagar road Kalma chuk on early Monday morning.
Rescue officials said the body and injured were moved to a hospital,
The truck driver managed to flee from the scene after the incident.
