RAWALPINDI: Police on Wednesday conducted a raid and arrested two suspects allegedly involved in range of criminal activities including attempted robbery and murder.
According to police, the raid was conducted in Ganjmandi Mohanpura market of the city where the suspected were arrested. Arms, a motorcycle use in the criminal activity as well as the stolen money were also recovered from their possession.
The suspects named Rehmatullah and Aktar Ali had killed a man, Naveed Akram, upon resisting during a robbery attempt last week. CPO Rawalpindi Naveed Younis had taken notice of the killing and ordered to arrest the culprits.
Police said that a case had been registered for attempted robbery and murder at Ganjmandi police station. A team lead by SPO investigation and including SDPO Waris Shah, and SHO Ganjmandi arrested the perpetrators within five days.
CPO Rawalpindi appreciated the police teams for arresting the suspects and recovering the stolen amount. He said that strict action will be taken against those who play with the lives and properties of ordinary citizens. He said the arrested of hardened criminals will help to reduce the crime rate in the city.
