ISLAMABAD: Adviser to PM on Finance Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh will chair an Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting today.
During the meeting, the cabinet would approve a hike in gas prices for the financial year 2019-20.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) had earlier proposed a 214 percent hike in gas prices. In this regard, the ECC submitted the proposal to increase the gar prices during the last meeting.
Earlier the ECC meeting was held last month where a $100 million for the Pakistan Mortgage Refinery Company was approved whereas the Finance Ministry accepted a supplementary grant of Rs80 million.
The agenda of the meeting included the supplementary grant of Rs100 million for the e-governance programme.
