The first confirmed case of novel coronavirus in India has been reported today (Thursday) in the southern state of Kerala.
According to details, the patient was a female student studying at Wuhan University, tested positive for the coronavirus after returning to Kerala.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) of India in a statement said, “The patient has tested positive for novel coronavirus and is in isolation in the hospital. The patient is stable and is being closely monitored.”
Health Minister of Kerala, KK Shailaja has called an emergency meeting to take immediate steps of the current situation.
The Indian health ministry had asked people who have a travel history to China since January 1 to report at the nearest health facility if they experienced any symptoms.
