ISLAMABAD: The officials of Capital Development Authority (CDA) have reportedly involved in the fraudulent practice in allotment of CDA land to the mafia in the Model Town Burji area Islamabad.
Sources said representatives of land mafia in the capital are indulging in this dirty business as the CDA has failed to stop illegal construction in the area despite massive complaints by citizens.
Sources said in Model Town Burji area CDA has reserved land to construct children’s school, park and Degree College for area residents, but unfortunately, the land including drainage was illegally occupied by the Mafia with the help of CDA officials.
Sources further said that concerned officials are deliberately used delaying tactics to clear land in order to escalate the prices and benefit the property dealers who pay them handsome bribe and commission. Residents of the area had already requested NAB Islamabad to clear the land however the issues did not address yet.
Sources disclosed and said the CDA never exercised its building bylaws beyond the urban areas, after receiving a huge amount of bribe from land grabbers.
The CDA officials provide a free hand to land dealers to construct commercial and residential buildings of their own will that resulted in the mushroom growth of illegal constructions.
The area people appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Ali Nawaz Awan to issued directives for concerned officials to investigate the matter according to law.
