TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has assured his counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi that his country welcomes the peace endeavours of Pakistan.
Appreciating the tenacity of Prime Minister Imran Khan for the establishment of peace in the region, Javad Zarif assured that Iranian leadership would take immediate steps for de-escalation of tensions in the region.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has urged the need for exercising earnest efforts by all sides for de-escalating tensions in the Middle East and to prevent volatility in the region.
Qureshi also called for adopting the way of discourse through signifying moderation, rationality and tolerance in order to diminish conflict in the Middle East and to sort out the matters in a diplomatic approach.
On this occasion, both sides discussed Iran-US tension, peace and security situation in the region and bilateral relations in detail.
