KARACHI: Goods Transport Association have continued their strike on the second day and threatened to extend protest across the country until their demands would not be addressed.
According to details, the Goods Transporters protest and strike have entered the second day against non-implementation of excel load law and an increase in road permit fees.
The protestors of goods transporters have said that no one contacted from the federal level with the association yet, blaming that the concern authorities ignored the issue.
They demanded that as per the orders of the Islamabad High Court implement excel load limit instant, adding that otherwise they will hold a strike and continue protest for long period for the fulfillment of their fair demands
on 2nd January, transporters in Lahore also threatened that they would hold a countrywide protest due to tariffs, toll taxes, and other increased fines by the government.
The strike has been initiated over an enormous augment in fines on highways and motorways by the federal cabinet last year in November.
