New Delhi: India has called Pakistan and China to stop CPEC related activities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. According to a report published in The Hindu.
New Delhi wants Islamabad and Beijing to halt development projects in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian External Affairs spokesperson, Raveesh Kumar has said that IoK is an integral part of India, and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor passes through Indian territory,” AJK” which according to India is under the annexure of Pakistan since 1947.
“We reject the reference to Jammu and Kashmir in the joint statement issued by China and Pakistan after the recent visit of Chinese Foreign Minister. J&K is an integral part of India. India has consistently expressed concerns to both China and Pakistan on the projects in so-called China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which is on the territory of India that has been illegally occupied by Pakistan since 1947,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Pakistan over the weekend and discussed regional issues. During the discussion, China reiterated its support to Pakistan to protect its territorial integrity and sovereignty. The visit was part of continued consultation between Beijing and Islamabad after India ended the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir on August 5.
“India is resolutely opposed to any actions by other countries to change the status quo in Pakistan-“occupied” Kashmir. We call on the parties concerned to cease such actions,” said the spokesperson.
India has annexed Jammu and Kashmir and revoked Article 370, which guaranteed the special status of the Valley. It has been 36 days since the IoK is under complete lockdown. The besieged state is under complete communication blockade, the media personnel, and political activists are barred from entering the State of Jammu and Kashmir. The residents have alleged Indian troops of abducting citizens and brutally torturing them in military camps.
