KARACHI: The family of Abid Ali has denied rumors on social media circulated about the death of the veteran actor on late Tuesday.
Abid Ali’s sister Rabia made clear that the news was fake. The veteran actor has been severely unwell for the past two months, as his daughters revealed before, but many publications started announcing his passing without any confirmation.
Rabia said, “This news that all the channels are showing, copying each other without any research on their part and circulating this ridiculous unverified information to the public, is wrong. This is absolutely wrong! They should be ashamed of themselves and they should be punished for it.”
She added, “Abid Ali is alive. Yes, he is unwell and yes, his condition is critical, but he is still alive and may he get better.”
After receiving telephone calls about fake news of Abid Ali’s death, the statement was issued from the hospital, where the actor is being treated at a private hospital in Karachi.
The hospital administration made it clear that actor’s condition was still in critical condition but he was in under observation. The administration appealed to the public to pray for Abid Ali’s recovery.
