The Pakistan Embassy in Tashkent announced on Monday that the Government of Uzbekistan has lifted the ban on Pakistani workers, allowing them to pursue job opportunities in the country. The ban, which was imposed in December, came after complaints about Pakistani workers facing delays in receiving their salaries and experiencing unsuitable working conditions.
To facilitate employment in Uzbekistan, the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) has issued a circular confirming that the embassy has suggested registering workers. The BEOE has instructed all Protectorate of Emigrants Offices to register workers, ensuring the protection of the interests of those intending to emigrate.
Pakistani citizens planning to work in Uzbekistan must obtain visa protection from the relevant department to safeguard their rights in the host country. Workers traveling to Uzbekistan on a work visa are required to get it protected by the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment.
The total protector fee for applicants who have secured jobs through Overseas Employment Promoters is Rs22,200, as per the official website. An additional Rs6,000 will be charged for processing cases.
For those who obtained direct employment in Morocco, the total protector fee is Rs9,200. This fee includes Rs4,000 for the OPF fund, Rs2,500 for Insurance Premium, Rs2,500 for registration, and Rs200 for OEC.
