ALGIERS: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Algeria on Sunday for talks on neighbouring Libya conflict and plans to boost trade ties.
According to the reports, President Erdogan was received at Algiers airport by his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune, along with a high-level business delegation.

Erdogan, whose country is the biggest investor in a north African state, told reporters about his departure from Istanbul, “We are going to hold a business conference in Algeria.”
“We will also be discussing recent developments in our region, particularly Libya,” he said before the first leg of an African tour.
Turkey provided military aid to Libya’s United Nations-recognised Government of National Accord (GNA), the fighters of which have been at war with military-strong forces, Khalifa Haftar, since last April.

Algiers took on the role of mediator and last week hosted a meeting in Libya that rejected “any foreign interference.”
