Campaign launched after woman convicted over blasphemy charges

RAWALPINDI: Social media users have launched a campaign for the release of Aneeqa Atiq, a girl who has been accused of blasphemy.

As per social media users, the 26-year-old Aneeqa Atiq was unjustly sentenced while the trend is also running on social media with the hashtag save her. It may be recalled that four days ago, the court of Additional District.

Moreover, Sessions Judge Adnan Mushtaq of Rawalpindi had sentenced the convict to death in a blasphemy case while the convict was sentenced to a total of 20 years under the Cyber Crimes Act and other provisions.

Aneeqa Atiq uttered insulting words on social media and committed the crime of blasphemy, while the FIA Cyber Crime Wing had registered a case on May 13, 2020. The case was heard in Adiala Jail.

First of all,blasphemy isnt freedom of speech.
Secondly, It happens all over the world that whoever breaks the law is punished, Aneeqa broke Pakistani law and sentencd to death.
