ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is likely to approve a hike in electricity prices by Rs2.97 per paisas per unit.
According to sources, the increase in electricity prices will be due to September’s fuel adjustment.
According to the sources, NEPRA will hold a meeting on 30th October on whether to rise the prices of electricity or not.
According to the Central Power Purchasing Company (CCPA), in September, it generated 37.09 percent electricity and other 11.85 percent electricity from gas.

Similarly, in September, imported the LNG generated 21.06 percent of electricity.
In July this year, a notification was issued to increase electricity prices by 10 paise per unit.
According to NEPRA’s notification, the increase in electricity prices was due to May’s fuel adjustment.
NEPRA has directed that electricity distribution companies receive July electricity bills from increased consumers.
