SRINAGAR: The curfew has continued for the 72nd consecutive day in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) on Tuesday.
Earlier on Monday, mobile-phone services were restored in the occupied valley. However, access to the internet is still prohibited in the region.
Restrictions continue to remain imposed, shops closed except for few hours in the morning and evening, and schools and offices are closed and no sign of public transport available is seen on the roads.

Lack of communication has also caused difficulties for the people. Not only have social interactions has been severely affected but the economy has also suffered.
Patients have become the worst victims of military suppression. It has effectively cut people off not only from their immediate surroundings but also from the world.
According to media reports, a truck driver from Rajasthan was shot dead on Monday evening. His vehicle was set aflame by unidentified gunmen in the Shopian district.
An Indian soldier was killed and two others were injured when an Improvised Explosive Device went off in Nowgam area of Kupwara district in north Kashmir.
Since 5th August, the Indian government has placed a curfew in IoK by revoking the special status of occupied Kashmir.
Pakistan has remained vocal against the atrocities being committed in the restive region. The people of the valley do not have access to basic necessities. Pakistani politicians and parliamentarians have condemned Indian brutalities in Kashmir.
