SAHIWAL: At least six people including three women were killed on Tuesday when a car collided with a trailer-truck near Sahiwal.
Six people of the same family including two women and a child were killed when a troller hit a car on Chichawatni Kamalia Road. The incident occurred when a speeding truck rammed into a car which overturned on the main highway.
According to rescue sources, the dead bodies have been shifted to the DHQ hospital Chichawatni. Local police and rescue officials reached the site of the incident and shifted the injured to the hospital.
Earlier this week, a deadly road accident claimed the lives of six people when a car rammed into a truck in Qilla Saifullah district of Balochistan.
The car was on its way to Islamabad via Zhob Garang area when it collided with a truck coming from the opposite side of the road. A crane was sought to remove parts of the damaged car from the truck.
After the deadly crash, the truck driver fled from the spot while Levies shifted dead bodies to the district headquarters hospital. Levies official said an investigation was underway into the incident but no arrest was made so far after the accident.
Regular traffic accidents due to reckless driving, damaged roads and over-speeding have claimed scores of lives on various highways across the country.
