WASHINGTON: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide topped 25 million.
The number of coronavirus infection cases across the world has surged to 25,905,876 and the pandemic has so far claimed over 861,277 lives. According to the latest data, 18,193,632 patients have recovered from the pandemic so far.
The United States tops with nearly 6,257,571 cases and more than 188,900 deaths followed by Brazil with over 3,952,790 cases and more than 122,681 deaths.
India has reported 3,766,108 cases while 66,460 deaths due to the coronavirus. The country has the third-highest number of recorded infections in the world.
Over 1,000,048 people have infected while 17,299 people died of the virus in Russia. Peru has reported 657,129cases while 29,068 deaths.
South Africa has become one of the top five worst-hit countries in the coronavirus pandemic as the country reported over 628,259 infections. The country reported 14,263 deaths.
Colombia has reported 624,069 cases while 20,052 death. Mexico has reported 65,241 deaths and 606,036 cases.
Spain has recorded 29,152 fatalities and 470,973 infections. More than 428,239 cases have been reported in Argentina while 8,919 succumbed to death
In Chile, nearly 413,145 cases were confirmed, including more than 11,321 deaths. Meanwhile, the death toll is 21,672 in Iran as the confirmed number of cases is almost 376,894.
The United Kingdom has reported 41,504 fatalities and 337,168 infections. Saudi Arabia has reported 316,670 cases of coronavirus, while 3,929 coronavirus deaths have been reported.
Italy, which recorded its first coronavirus death at the end of February, has 35,491 fatalities, while 270,189 infections.
