RAWALPINDI: The district police today (Wednesday) have arrested a six-member inter-district criminal gang, including the ring leader Arslan Khalid.
Upon receiving information, a team under the supervision of SHO Rawat raided at a house in a private housing society and managed to arrest six member of ‘Arslan decoit gang’.
According to a police spokesperson, the arrested accused were identified as Arslan Khalid, Shan Ali, Awais, Waqar Ahmed and Nadeem Aslam and Itikhar Ahmed.
The police spokesperson further informed that the team has recovered looted goods worth Rs 2.5 million from their possession. Police also recovered six stolen motorcycle, 14 mobile phones, gold and artificial jewellery, weapons and other valuables.
“The arrested gang members confessed to having committed dozens of dacoities, robberies, cash and mobile snatching and other crimes in several areas of Rawalpidni,” the spokesperson informed.
Earlier on August 13, the federal police arrested four Afghan suspects involved in various crimes including robberies and bike lifting.
According to details, the Khanna police station, in collaboration with intelligence agencies launched a search operation in Islamabad’s Sohan area on the directives of senior officials.
During the operation, two suspicious motorcycles and a mobile phone used in the robberies were also recovered. The arrested persons and the recovered items were shifted to Khanna Police Station.
