RAWALPINDI: Two men, who posed as police officers, looted Rs 2 lakh cash and mobile phone from a man in broad daylight in front of the district police station.
According to details, the incident occurred on the afternoon of August 13 when two men robbed the man after he made a withdrawal of Rs200,000 from a bank in Rawalpindi’s Mandrah town.
The victim, named Wasim Abid, claimed that the robbers forcibly entered the ATM and identified themselves as police officers. Wasim Abid said that the robbers forcibly took away his cash, mobile phone, wallet, and other valuable things.
He claimed that the police were not registering his case not taking any action against the culprits. The victim has appealed to the concerned authorities to take action against the culprits and the corrupt police officials.
Earlier in February, One of two robbers apprehended by citizens in Haroonabad was revealed to be a police officer after investigation.
The suspected robbers, identified as Dawood and Abu Sufyan, were fleeing after looting a trader, Shafiq, who chased them. Panicked, the robbers fell off their motorcycle. Citizens present at the scene captured them and handed them to SITE B Police.
