KARACHI: Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) on Tuesday arrested four women from a passenger van and recovered drugs from their possession.
According to the PCG spokesman, the law enforcement authorities intercepted a suspicious vehicle at Winder checkpost travelling from Quetta to Karachi.
During inspection, authorities recovered 25 kilograms of hashish from the custody of four women who have been taken into custody.
In another action, authorities recovered 12 kilograms of hashish from a woman travelling in a passenger coach. The narcotics are said to be worth Rs62 million in the international market.
During the patrol, 50,000 litres of Iranian diesel was also recovered from various areas near the city.
The PCG spokesperson said coast guard personnel will continue to play their role in stablising the country’s economy and are committed to preventing all kinds of smuggling.
