PUNJAB: A woman shot dead the second wife of her husband and then committed suicide in the Sheikhupura District of Punjab.
According to the sources, the husband of the woman had married another woman secretly. As soon as she came to know about her husband’s second marriage, she went to her husband’s second wife’s house and opened fire at her. As a result, the victim died on the spot.
Later, the accused woman shot herself in the head and died at the scene. Bodies of both women were shifted to Sheikhupura Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Police have arrested the husbands of both the wives and started an investigation. However, no case of murder and suicide of both the women have been registered so far.
Earlier, a husband shot dead his wife and a man he suspected of having affairs with her in Ratowal village near Fateh Jang.
According to sources, a man Sufiyan had suspected that his 30-year-old wife, Shahniza, had illicit relations with Noman Chachar. He first shot dead his wife and then killed Noman before fleeing.
After receiving the information, the area police went to the site of the incident and found the bodies in a pool of blood inside the house. Police said that the bodies were taken to the nearby hospital where doctors conducted a post-mortem examination.
A police official said “We have registered a case [under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code] against Sufiyan. Police arrested him as he fled [the site of the incident] along with the weapon after committing the crime, he added.
