PIR MAHAL: An accident occurred when a car overturned near Rajana Interchange at the Lahore-Abdul Hakim Motorway in Pir Mahal claiming at least six lives and injuring two others.
According to details, the car turned turtle as its tire burst due to over-speeding in the Pir Mahal area, killing six persons on the spot and injuring two others.
The ill-fated car was going to Kasur from Multan. Police and rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the dead and injured to the hospital. Rescue sources said that two children were among the dead. Police have started an investigation.
Last week, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Lachi tehsil city Kohat was martyred and his gunman injured by a gang of criminals during a routine patrol.
As per details, the criminals had opened fire at SHO Nazar Abbas and his gunman Jasim Khan. As a result, they sustained severe bullet injuries. Police said SHO Nazir Abbas was rushed to the DHQ hospital Kohat in a critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.
The condition of gunman Jasim Ali is stated to be critical in ICU who received multiple bullets in body.
DIG Kohat division Tayyeb Hafeez Cheema and district police officer Mansoor Aman asked the police to take immediate action and bring the culprits to justice.
