KABUL: Five people were killed and six others injured in a suicide attack targeting a military academy in the Afghan capital early Tuesday.
As per reports quoting the Afghan ministry of defence five people were killed and at least six injured in the attack. However, the interior ministry said six people died including two civilians and four military personnel after the suicide bomber detonated the device targeting military academy.
Spokesman Nasrat Rahimi said in statement six killed and 12 others were injured in the attack, added the blast occurred at Marshal Fahim military academy, where the country’s security officers are getting training.
Eyewitness narrates it was a big explosion that rocked houses. Locals said the attacker was on foot when he targeted a vehicle near a checkpoint as it was entering the Marshal Fahim military academy.
Meanwhile, President Ashraf Ghani slammed the incident, declaring the attack as a crime against humanity. No group instantly claimed responsibility for the suicide attack, which comes after nearly three months of relative calm in Kabul.
