ISLAMABAD: Palestine’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, arrived in Pakistan on Sunday at the head of a high-level delegation, marking the start of an official visit aimed at strengthening religious and diplomatic engagement between the two sides.
Officials and religious scholars received the delegation upon arrival, according to reports. During his stay, the Palestinian cleric is expected to hold meetings with senior Pakistani leadership, prominent ulema and representatives of religious organisations.

Sources said the visit would include participation in conferences and special sessions focused on the situation in Palestine, particularly the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The Grand Mufti is also likely to address gatherings to highlight the challenges faced by Palestinians and underscore the need for unity in the Muslim world.
It may be added here that Pakistan has consistently reiterated its political, diplomatic and moral support for the Palestinian cause, calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and a just resolution to the decades-old conflict in line with United Nations resolutions.
Observers say such visits reflect Islamabad’s continued engagement with Palestinian religious leadership and serve to reinforce public and institutional solidarity with the people of Palestine amid escalating regional tensions.
