KARACHI: The downward trend in gold and silver prices persisted on Wednesday, extending relief to households and wedding‑season buyers across Pakistan.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24‑karat gold per tola fell by Rs 5,500 to Rs 479,562, while 10 grams of 24‑karat gold dropped Rs 4,715 to Rs 411,147. The rate for 22‑karat gold per 10 grams stood at Rs 376,898, down Rs 4,322 from the previous session.
On the international market, gold slipped to $4,572 per ounce, marking a $55 decline.
Silver also edged lower. The price of 24‑karat silver per tola decreased by Rs45 to Rs7,766, while 10 grams of silver fell Rs38 to Rs6,658. International silver prices eased to $72.82 per ounce, down $0.45.
Market watchers say the continued decline in bullion prices is expected to further lift consumer sentiment, particularly among families preparing for weddings and festive purchases. Jewelers anticipate stronger demand as affordability improves, with buyers seizing the opportunity to shop at lower rates.
