In the Pakistan Super League 11, Hyderabad Kingsmen secured a place in the play-offs after defeating Rawalpindiz by 108 runs.
The match was played at National Bank Stadium in Karachi, where Rawalpindiz won the toss and opted to field first.
Batting first, Hyderabad Kingsmen posted an imposing total of 244 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Glenn Maxwell led the charge with an aggressive 70 off 37 balls, while Usman Khan scored 54 and Kusal Perera added 50.
Chasing a target of 245, Rawalpindiz were bowled out for 136 in 17.1 overs. Usman Khawaja top-scored with an unbeaten 66, but lacked support as wickets fell regularly.
For Hyderabad Kingsmen, Hunan Shah claimed four wickets, while Akif Javed took three.
It is worth noting that Hyderabad needed to restrict Rawalpindiz to 158 or fewer to qualify for the play-offs — a target they comfortably achieved.
As a result, defending champions Lahore Qalandars have been eliminated from the tournament.
