An Iranian delegation led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to reach Islamabad tonight for the second round of peace talks with the United States, Geo News reported, citing government sources on Friday.
A US logistics and security team is already present in the federal capital ahead of the potential second round of peace talks, sources said.
Sources indicate that the US delegation is likely to leave Washington, D.C. for Pakistan as part of efforts to negotiate with Iran.
Earlier, Pakistani government sources said that Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is also expected to arrive in Islamabad today, accompanied by a small team.
According to sources, discussions with Pakistan’s mediation team could pave the way for a second round of talks between the United States and Iran in the near future.
