A young man from an influential family has allegedly been involved in a case of reckless and unlawful driving in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA), raising concerns over unequal enforcement of law.
According to details, the individual was reportedly driving allegedly under the influence of alcohol and without clothing when he was seen moving against traffic from the wrong side of the road.
When police attempted to stop the vehicle, he allegedly fled the scene and later drove into an empty plot in Khayaban-e-Iqbal, DHA, Karachi.
Eyewitnesses and initial reports claim that the man appeared intoxicated and was behaving aggressively, including shouting and using abusive language towards police officials. Despite the situation, he was not formally detained at the scene.
Sources further said that his father later arrived and took him away from the location, after which no immediate legal action was observed at the time of the incident.
The incident has sparked public debate on social media, with many questioning alleged double standards in the application of law, claiming that individuals from privileged backgrounds often receive preferential treatment compared to ordinary citizens.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding any investigation or possible charges in the case.
