DHAKA: Bangladesh will host Pakistan for a two-match Test series that forms part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 cycle, with fixtures scheduled for May at two venues in the country.
Fixtures
– May 8–12 — Sher‑e‑Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka
– May 16–20 — Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet
Bangladesh arrive at the home Tests after a 26‑run defeat to New Zealand in the first ODI at Mirpur. New Zealand posted 247/8 after fifties from Tom Latham’s teammates (noted contributors Nicholls and Foxcroft), while Bangladesh were restricted to 221 as their chase faltered following a middle‑order collapse.
New Zealand’s pace attack set the tone: Blair Tickner returned 4 for 40, supported by Nathan Smith, who helped curtail Bangladesh after the visitors had earlier built platform through those half‑centuries.
Pakistan squad and support staff
Pakistan have named a 16‑member touring party captained by Shan Masood. Sarfaraz Ahmed will serve as head coach, with Asad Shafiq as batting coach and Umar Gul as bowling coach. The squad includes four uncapped players.
Bangladesh squad
Latest reports have not yet confirmed Bangladesh’s Test squad for the series.
The two Tests will contribute points to the WTC 2025–27 table and provide both sides an opportunity to solidify their Test credentials ahead of the cycle’s conclusion.
