Punjab ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar 2026’ Scheme: Completes details

The government has launched the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar 2026’ scheme, a major housing initiative aimed at helping low-income families build their own homes.

Under the scheme, eligible individuals will be provided with interest-free loans of up to Rs1.5 million, repayable in easy monthly instalments.

To apply, applicants must be residents of Punjab, heads of their families, owners of a small plot of land, and have an NSER PMT score below 60. The application process is simple and can be completed through an online portal or via a helpline. The scheme offers a significant opportunity for families to move from rented accommodation to owning a home.

Loan Amount: Up to Rs1.5 million
Interest Rate: Zero (interest-free)
Monthly Instalment: Approximately Rs26,000
Repayment Period: 5 to 7 years
Grace Period: 3 months
Coverage: All 36 districts of Punjab
Application Method: Online and helpline

Overview of the Scheme:

The primary objective is to support individuals in constructing homes on their own land. Instead of providing ready-built houses, the government is offering financial assistance so applicants can build according to their needs. The programme aims to facilitate the construction of 100,000 homes in phases.

Three Models of the Scheme:

Housing on government land
Housing through private housing schemes
Interest-free loans for individuals owning land

Most applicants are expected to benefit from the third model, which provides direct financial support.

Interest-free loans up to Rs1.5 million
Affordable monthly instalments
Flexible repayment over 5–7 years
3-month grace period before repayment
Government subsidies on construction costs and taxes
Transparent digital application system

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must:

Be the head of the family (as per NADRA records)
Be a permanent resident of Punjab
Own 1–5 marla land in urban areas or 1–10 marla in rural areas
Have no criminal record or FIR
Not be a bank defaulter
Be registered in NSER
Have a PMT score below 60

Required Documents:

Valid CNIC
Proof of land ownership
NSER registration proof (PMT score)
Proof of being head of household
Active mobile number
Affidavit confirming no FIR or bank default

Incomplete or unclear documents may lead to rejection.

How to Apply (Online):

Visit acag.punjab.gov.pk
Click on “Register”
Enter details as per CNIC
Provide land and contact information
Create a password
Submit the application

A confirmation message will be received after submission.

Offline Application Method:

Applicants without internet access can call 0800-09100, provide their details, and receive a reference number.

Post-Application Process:

NADRA will verify identity and family details
NSER will check PMT score
Land ownership will be verified
Banks will review financial records
Approval will be communicated via SMS
