Iranian media have denied circulating reports claiming that the wife of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had died, clarifying that she is alive and that the reports of her martyrdom are incorrect.
According to Iranian outlets, Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, the wife of the late leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, remained safe during the recent attack and claims about her death are unfounded.
The clarification came after the news agency Fars News Agency issued a report on Thursday stating that the information circulating about the former Iranian leader’s wife was not based on facts.
Earlier, several official and unofficial media sources had reported that Ayatollah Khamenei’s wife had also been killed in the recent attack alongside him. However, doubts later emerged regarding the claim.
Questions intensified when the newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, made his first address to the nation but did not mention the death of his mother.
Iranian media later clarified that Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh is safe and that reports about her death are inaccurate.
