Italy has opened doors for Pakistani workers by announcing thousands of work visas, marking a significant development for Pakistani talent seeking opportunities in Europe.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently held a meeting with his Italian counterpart, Matteo Pente Duce, where the two sides discussed strengthening bilateral security ties and curbing illegal immigration.
The meeting also covered enhanced cooperation in combating drug trafficking, human smuggling, and terrorism, with both ministers acknowledging the progress already made in tackling these issues.
The Italian Interior Minister revealed that 10,500 work visas would be made available for skilled Pakistani workers as part of efforts to encourage legal migration and deepen mutual cooperation between the two nations.
He further emphasized Italy’s willingness to broaden collaboration with Pakistan across areas of shared interest.
In a notable development, the Italian minister also announced that holders of Pakistani diplomatic passports would be granted exemption from Italian visa requirements, a request that had previously been raised by Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The Italian side confirmed that meaningful progress had been made on this matter since it was first brought up in an earlier meeting.
