Security forces killed five terrorists, including a suicide bomber, during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Pishin district on Sunday.
In a statement, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operation was conducted against a “tashkeel” (formation) of Fitna al-Khawarij, described as an Indian-sponsored proxy.
During a fierce exchange of fire, one suicide bomber detonated himself, while four other militants were shot dead by troops. A substantial cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was also recovered from the site.
According to the military’s media wing, the slain militants were involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area. A clearance operation is ongoing to eliminate any remaining threats and secure the vicinity.
The ISPR reiterated that security forces will continue their sustained counter-terrorism efforts under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative until foreign-sponsored terrorism is completely eradicated.
