In a tragic incident in Bajaur, unknown gunmen opened fire on a police station, resulting in the death of the Additional SHO.
The attack occurred last night at the Wara Mamund police station in the Umaray area of Bajaur district. Armed assailants launched the assault and opened fire on duty officers.
Bajaur police responded with force, successfully forcing the attackers to retreat. However, during the intense exchange of gunfire, Additional SHO Gul Manodin was struck and killed.
District Police Officer Waqas Rafiq informed the media that search operations have been launched in the area and police are continuing a robust counter-operation.
This incident follows previous attacks in the province, including one in Khuzdar, Balochistan, where unknown assailants opened fire on people visiting a dam for a picnic, killing three. Protests were held on the highway between Quetta and Karachi by relatives of the victims.
Earlier this month, armed men also targeted individuals from Wadh in Khuzdar, in a similar tragic shooting near Harnbodim.
