Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi on Thursday said that the company manufacturing Rafale aircraft has confirmed Pakistan’s claim of shooting down Indian Rafale jets.
Speaking at the weekly news briefing, Andrabi said the French aerospace company Dassault Aviation had verified information regarding the downing of Indian Rafale aircraft by Pakistan.
He added that any future Indian aggression would be met with a strong response.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson also clarified that Pakistan’s legal team participated in hearings at the Permanent Court of Arbitration regarding the Indus Waters Treaty, while India did not attend. Pakistan reiterated that full compliance with the treaty is mandatory for both sides.
The spokesperson said a recent UN 1267 Sanctions Committee report confirmed the free movement of the TTP in Afghanistan and its involvement in activities against Pakistan.
The report also highlighted cooperation between ISKP and other militant groups in northern Afghanistan.
He alleged that a Daesh mastermind is based in Afghanistan and assisting operations against Pakistan, adding that Islamabad remains in contact with the UN and other partners.
