Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has issued new directives for retired employees, making the fulfillment of certain conditions mandatory for the continuation of pension payments.
According to a circular, retired employees must register with an insurance company to avail medical facilities.
Moreover, pensioners are required to open a designated pension bank account and submit a verification certificate from the concerned bank confirming the existence of the account.
The notification says that employees who retired on or before September 30, 2023, must comply with these instructions by February 15.
For registration, pensioners will be required to visit PIA Medical Centres and complete biometric verification using their national identity card.
The circular further warns that unregistered retired employees will not be entitled to medical facilities at PIA Medical Centres. Moreover, pensioners who retired on or before September 30, 2023, must provide complete pension bank account details to ensure uninterrupted pension disbursement.
PIA officials said the measures are aimed at streamlining pension payments and ensuring transparency in the provision of post-retirement benefits.
