The first solar eclipse of the year will take place on February 17 and is being described as a “Ring of Fire” eclipse, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
Officials confirmed that the eclipse will not be visible in Pakistan.
The annular eclipse, commonly known as the Ring of Fire, will be visible only in Antarctica, while partial views of the eclipse may be seen in parts of Africa and South America.
A partial eclipse will also be observable over regions of the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and Indian Ocean.
According to Pakistani time, the solar eclipse will begin at 2:56 pm, reach its maximum at 5:12 pm, and end at 7:28 pm.
Meteorological experts also noted that four eclipses will occur this year, including two solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses.
Meanwhile, astronomers have highlighted that the longest solar eclipse of the century is expected to occur in 2027, which is anticipated to draw global scientific and public attention.
Although the upcoming eclipse will not be visible locally, authorities advise the public to rely on official scientific sources for accurate information regarding celestial events.
