Investigating authorities have achieved a major breakthrough in the probe into yesterday’s horrific suicide blast at a local mosque and Imambargah.
According to investigative sources, the identification card of the attacker was recovered from the blast site.
Attacker Identified
The suicide bomber has been identified as Yasir, based on the details found on the recovered CNIC. Government sources have disclosed the following critical details regarding his recent movements.
Investigations reveal that the attacker had been residing in Afghanistan for the past five months prior to the assault.
Following the identification, security forces conducted a targeted raid on the attacker’s residence in Peshawar.
During the operation, authorities arrested two brothers of the suicide bomber and one woman. They have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
Tragedy at Masjid-e-Khadija-tul-Kubra
The identification follows the devastating attack that took place during Friday prayers at the Masjid-e-Khadija-tul-Kubra.
The attacker reportedly attempted to force his way into the mosque during the congregation. When security personnel intercepted him at the entrance, he detonated his explosives. The scale of the tragedy is immense, as 32 people were martyred and more than 170 people were injured.

The federal capital remains on high alert as forensic teams and intelligence agencies analyze the recovered evidence to trace the facilitators of the attack.
